This year, Benjamin List of Germany and David Macmillan of the United States jointly won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry. They received the award jointly for their discovery of a new molecular technique called asymmetric organocatalysis.

Goran Hanson, Secretary General of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, announced the winners in Stockholm, Sweden, on Wednesday (October 6th) at 3pm Bangladesh time. The two scientists will share the prize money of 10 million Swedish kronor.

Last year, two scientists from France and the United States won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for inventing a new technology in DNA editing. They are Emanuel Sharpenter of France and Jennifer A. Donna of the United States.

Earlier on Monday (October 4th), two American medical scientists, Ardem Pataposhian and David Julius, were announced as joint winners of the Nobel Prize in Medicine. They received the award jointly for their discovery of receptors for temperature and touch.

The next day, on Tuesday (October 5), Seoukuro Manabe, Klaus Hasselman and Giorgio Parisi were announced as Nobel laureates for their contributions to physics. One of the three scientists is American, German and the other is Italian
